Facebook can become an idol, a place of vain talk. Congregations can become idols to the pastors, if they attend to them more than to God.
A word of the Lord to Lonnie: “Facebook – I want people to get their face into My book. Facebook is man communicating with man. I want man to start communicating with Me.” Facebook talk can be vain talk. Scriptures about spiritual talk and vain talk:
Psa 145:11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
Job 15:3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
The connection between idol and idle in Psa 115: Those that make them are like them (they see not, hear not, speak not). This applies to some leaders in today’s churches. Their congregations become their idols, they are giving all attention to their congregations rather than to God. They make the people to be just like themselves: idle. People like an idol, they are idle, doing nothing.
Psa 115:8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
